Bosniak Educational and Cultural Commmunity of North America
"Revival"

Mission statement

The Bosniak Educational and Cultural Community of North America (BECCNA – “Revival”) exists to preserve, develop, and promote the cultural, educational, historical, and intellectual heritage of the Bosniak people within the United States and Canada, while maintaining strong institutional ties with its parent organization in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the global Bosniak cultural community

BECCNA’s primary goal is to strengthen awareness of the uniqueness, continuity, and integrity of Bosniak culture as an equal and valuable part of the world’s cultural heritage. This includes systematic research, documentation, interpretation, and public presentation of Bosniak history, language, literature, art, traditions, and social development from the earliest times to the present

The Community aims to unite Bosniak organizations, associations, and institutions across North America into a coordinated and effective cultural network capable of advancing national and cultural integrity, supporting education and scholarship, and fostering intergenerational continuity among Bosniaks in the diaspora. A central objective is the development of educational programs, cultural institutions, publications, artistic initiatives, and scientific activities that contribute to knowledge, creativity, and cultural self-confidence

BECCNA is committed to encouraging civic responsibility, ethical values, and awareness of historical injustices, including research and documentation related to genocide and persecution of Bosniaks, while promoting peaceful dialogue, mutual respect, and cooperation with other cultural communities and institutions in North America and worldwide

Through independence in cultural life, non-partisan action, and open cooperation, BECCNA seeks to empower Bosniaks to act as equal, constructive participants in the broader international community, contributing positively to cultural diversity, justice, and shared human values
